Sorry but this video is nonsense from beginning to the end. To make analogy it's like farmer would say how bad and unconvinient and that's why useless Lamborghini is. If he doesn't need it, it doesn't mean that nobody doesn't. Linear profiles are HUGE. But only small portion number of people do need them anyways. Trying to make linear profile to look like Adobe Color is like trying to make Lamborghini to drive like F150. Why would anybody do this in the first place? They have totally different purpose.

You have a new subscriber. I like black and white but this method takes it to a new level. Can't wait to try it out. Have always struggled with Photoshop but your teaching methods make it easy to follow. Looking forward to checking out your other videos.

I am using a similar technique in Affinity Photo where I use a Curves Adjustment either in the LAB mode or CMYK mode underneath the Black to White gradient adjustment but your technique is much better it covers all the necessary tones one requires for a good BW image. Thanks a lot for the concept.

What about memory cards that just stop working and turn to RAW?

You are being very silly in your comparisons Blake. You show this large image with with a small piano (actually most would not necessary decipher that it was a ;piano) and zoom way in on it to make your ridiculous point. How about just using a normal photo of that piano, at lets say 10 yards away from it. Now do your comparison. Win, lose or draw, at least you would be fair about it. This new tool was actually created for Lightroom and as a result it is also in ACR. Anyone using Photoshop or Photoshop Beta does not need to use this ACR tool.

I've made 1 linear profile and tested it againts Nikon Flat profile exported form NX studio,well they are 99% the same,so thats very good !Now i will use Linear profile for my Pentax K1.

How about Linear profiles vs Flat profile (NIkon Flat for example) i think Flat profile is not linear as the Linear profile...?I must test this...i love working with Flat profile,gives you very realistic editing.

This kinda answers my sneaky suspicion that these expensive monochrome sensor cameras aren’t really giving me the wealth of raw information that I’d need to manipulate in order to produce satisfactory final image. Is this assumption valid? Or does the monochrome sensor translate and combine all the available light information from all spectrum of colors?

when should a texture layer sit on top of an image layer and when should a texture layer sit underneath an image layer. in some of your youtube videos (this video), you have the texture layer on the bottom, in videos where you use high-pass filters, you have the texture layer on top of the image
